The recordings library is here! 78s and LPs now added! To follow on from the immense amount of time, effort and dedication given to listing all the music sets and scores, Alan and Walter have now completed two more archive lists - The 78s Recording List and The LPs Library List.  The recordings provide an important historical record of performances of pieces by bands throughout the ages of the banding movement - many of which are no longer around.  This is truly one of the most impressive audio collections of brass banding history and offers an incredible walk down memory lane.

Now Available to View or  Download
The lists are downloadable as PDF documents or viewable online.  Simply select your option below and enjoy an insight to the many musical recordings offered by bands throughout our banding history.

The PDF document is searchable using Adobe Acrobat Reader (there is also a link to a free download of this should your computer not already have it loaded).  The online version of the recording lists are also searchable by using the 'Find on This Page' option normally available through your internet browser.

An Historical Record
The 78 Records Library List and LP Records Library List are not only the beginning of a significant record of historical value, but they indicate the relentless determination the Curators have offered this project to ensure that the future of brass banding has an enviable archive history upon which to reflect.

The attention to detail of these lists is a tribute to the hard work of Alan and Walter - each track of every recording has been lovingly listed with its composer/arranger, category, performing band and recording title. A remarkable set of information that should be applauded in its compilation!

Just One of Many Projects
The 78 Records Library and LP Records Library are only two of the major projects that are being compiled.  In conjunction with the immense amount of recordings which are being safely stored, there is also an extensive collection of sheet music (band sets and scores).  The No. 1 and No. 2 libraries for both these are now available for online viewing and downloading by visiting the Music Library page

You May Be Able To Help With Incomplete Sets
If you have any recordings (78s, LPs, 45s or CDs) that you no longer need, you may be able to help the Brass Band Archive expand the comprehensiveness of their collection.  Please don't hesitate to contact Walter or Alan to discuss what you have available.

Your Own Enquiries
If you have any specific enquiries for recordings, sheet music or memorabilia, please contact either Walter or Alan, who will be pleased to help.  In the meantime, we hope you enjoy gaining access to the Library List No. 1 - a fascinating collection of information and an impressive legacy for the future.
